Limited ad serving is a new Google Ads policy that requires Google to “get to know you” before allowing those ads to serve at full size. For Google Ads, this makes us think of the Google Sandbox in organic form from two decades ago.
In a report, Google said,
“announcing a new approach to improving ad clarity—a policy called Limited Ads Serving. Both reduce the risk of scams and help prevent confusing and misleading ads.”
According to Google, this policy will require Google Ads to establish a “get-to-know-you period” for advertisers with whom it is less familiar. Google explained that the advertiser’s ad impressions can be restricted during this getting-to-know-you phase.
To explain the functionality of this policy, Google said,
“implement this policy when the relationship between an advertiser and a brand referenced in their ad is unclear.”
