There are some peculiarities about the indexing of CSV (Comma Separated Value) files by Google. The dataset of Google’s search algorithm already used CSV files but only when described with structured data.
The data-structure documentation on Google’s old developer clarified that for appearing in dataset search features, CSV files are always an acceptable standard.
Back in 2018, they used tabular data as a search appearance when Google announced that they would be showing that kind of data in search when it is accompanied by structured data.
In 2022, Google updated the documentation and redirected it to the new Search Central Documentation. In that update, it is clear that Google relies on the structured data which used in the CSV files in their datasets of search appearance.
But there’s another question. is it a coincidence that the Indexing of CSV files and Google’s Core Algorithm update happened at the same time? Maybe Google has improved its crawling engine to be able to index CSV files.
