Players

In the game PacMan, there is one PacMan (the playable character) and four ghosts.

Movement

Pac Man can move in any direction of the maze and also take any turn they want. As for the ghosts, they only get to move forward except for when they reach any dead end.

Points

The players can earn points by eating the pellets or dots scattered around the maze. A total of four power pellets are placed in the four corners of the maze – each worth 50 points. Eating the power pellets energizes PacMan a lot and causes the other ghosts to turn a flashing blue/white and run away (this is the only time that the ghosts can be eaten).

Players also get bonus points when they eat a fruit that appears on the screen.

Avoidance

While you are playing the game, you have to make sure that you are avoiding coming face-to-face with the ghosts, otherwise, you risk losing the game.

A guy named Billy Mitchell made the Pacman 30th Anniversary game’s highest score with a total score of 3,333,360 points. The time that it took him was six hours to attain this score.

After this level, the game couldn’t be played any further. This is because the game screen split into two parts as a form of glitch post this level. There’s the level 256 glitch placed in Pacman 30th Anniversary ending as well, in the form of an easter egg.
